MakeWeBook (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a booking platform for service businesses — barbershops, salons, spas, and the other categories listed on Explore. These terms apply to everyone who uses MakeWeBook: a customer booking an appointment, and a business owner running their business on it. Sections that apply to only one of the two say so explicitly.
Customers sign in with a phone number, verified by a one-time code sent by SMS — there is no separate password to remember. Business owners sign in with an email and password. Either way, you're responsible for keeping access to your own phone number or account secure, and for the accuracy of the information you give us (your name, and for a business, your business's details).
You need to be at least 18 to create a business account. MakeWeBook isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 — see the Privacy Policy for more.
Before a business becomes public or accepts customer bookings, MakeWeBook may ask for information needed to review its setup and owner. We may approve, decline, suspend, or ask for more information. Platform approval means only that the business passed MakeWeBook's review at that time; it is not a recommendation, certification, or guarantee of the business, its people, or its services.
When you book, you're entering an agreement directly with that business — MakeWeBook provides the booking system, not the haircut, treatment, or service itself. Each business sets its own prices, hours, staff, and cancellation policy. A business sets its booking deposit (never below GHS 20), which is shown before you confirm and credited against the displayed service total. If a business cancels a paid booking, the customer is due a full refund of that booking deposit. For a customer-initiated cancellation, the business's configured refund windows determine whether the deposit is refunded in full, refunded in part, or not refunded. Customers cannot cancel online within 30 minutes of the appointment; a no-show does not earn a deposit refund. Rescheduling keeps the paid deposit applied to the rescheduled appointment unless the business agrees otherwise.
Once you've completed a visit, you can leave one review per appointment. Reviews are tied to a real, completed booking — you can't post a review for a business you haven't actually booked with on MakeWeBook.
You can optionally allow return invitations from businesses you have booked with. These appear only inside MakeWeBook and can be turned off at any time; you can also mute an individual business. This choice does not allow a business to contact you by SMS, email, WhatsApp, push notification, or another channel outside MakeWeBook.
Choosing a time or starting a payment does not by itself confirm an appointment. A deposit booking is confirmed when MakeWeBook shows or sends a confirmation after Paystack verifies the payment. If a payment succeeds after its temporary hold can no longer be confirmed, we will investigate the booking state with the business and arrange an appropriate refund or accepted rebooking where applicable. Until that happens, the payment does not create a confirmed appointment.
Your business, your customer relationship, full stop. MakeWeBook never shares your customer list with other businesses, and marketplace discovery (Explore, Search) never appears on your own booking page — that's a deliberate product commitment, not a default we might change without telling you. Marketplace visibility itself is opt-in and can be turned off in your dashboard's Marketplace settings at any time.
You're responsible for:
Card and mobile money payments are processed by Paystack, not MakeWeBook — we never see or store your full card details. For a successful booking deposit, MakeWeBook retains a 2.5% commission of the final quoted booking value, capped at GHS 10; Paystack's processing fee is deducted from the business's settlement share. Paystack splits the remaining deposit to the business's connected subaccount, so MakeWeBook does not hold or manually pay out business funds. An eligible refund is the business's responsibility and is handled through the original payment method where available. A dispute may be subject to Paystack's and the payment provider's own rules as well as the business's stated policy.
A customer choosing MakeWeBook return invitations only allows a one-way invitation inside MakeWeBook. It never gives permission for an external message. For a real current or upcoming appointment, the appointment details may offer a limited call or WhatsApp action for an operational need such as a schedule change, running late, arrival details, or a service question. It must not be used for promotion or rebooking.
These restrictions apply to personal information available through MakeWeBook. They do not prevent a customer from independently giving a business their contact details and direct permission, but the business is responsible for respecting that permission and applicable law.
We may suspend or remove an account that violates these terms — a business account specifically can be suspended by a platform administrator, which takes its booking page offline until reactivated.
If you suspect fraud, unsafe conduct, or another breach of these terms, contact us using the details in section 10. We may investigate and suspend or remove access where appropriate, but reporting a business does not itself guarantee a particular outcome.
MakeWeBook is provided “as is.” We work to keep the platform available and accurate, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we aren't responsible for the quality of a service a business actually delivers — that relationship, and any dispute about it, is between you and that business.
A MakeWeBook platform review is not a certification, safety check, warranty, or promise about a business's identity, qualifications, conduct, or service quality.
We may update these terms as MakeWeBook changes. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page; continuing to use MakeWeBook after that means you accept the update.
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Ghana, subject to any mandatory consumer protection or data-protection rights that apply to you.
